We are a passionate group of experienced rescuers who made a leap of faith to create a safe haven for unwanted, homeless and abused animals. We are determined to speak for those with no voice, and to responsibly find each one its own forever family. We have joined an even larger group of men and women who feel the same as we do. Every volunteer in ADORE is considered a “member,” an integral part of who we are and what we do. Each member has a voice, an important role, a key position in saving lives. We are mere mortals, but RESCUE IS OUR SUPERPOWER!

Crystal Schmidt
President
Crystal is a practicing infectious disease nurse practitioner with a passion for animals and animal welfare. This passion has driven her to run an all volunteer based nonprofit animal rescue in the Central Florida area. With her medical background and knowledge, the rescue has been able to focus on several complex medical cases. Crystal has been heavily involved with animal rescue since 2016 and co-founded ADORE in 2020. Non-rescue hobbies include raising 2 teen boys with her husband and watching her kids sports and extracurricular activities. Her favorite fosters are a litter of puppies and deaf dogs but she fosters a little of everything! Her goal for the rescue is to help as many animals as possible, and inspire others to do the same.
Heather Gove
Board Member
Heather is a mom of two teen boys and a lifelong dog lover. Her journey with ADORE began through adoption, where she quickly discovered just how special rescue dogs truly are. Seeing the impact of giving a dog a second chance inspired her to become more involved. When she’s not helping animals, Heather enjoys saltwater fishing, cheering on her boys at their sports games, and traveling with her husband and family.
Kim Minton
Board Member
Kim is a mom of 2 boys and a huge cat lover. Her favorite fosters are mama cats and litters of kittens. Kim has been a foster for Adore since 2020 and a board member since 2023. When she’s not fostering cats, Kim loves to travel and spend time with family. Kim also works as a Realtor in the Oviedo, FL area where she has lived for over 35 years.
